DENTAL TECHNOLOGY
How we use the latest advancements
In dentistry, the instruments used make all the difference. A procedure performed with a laser is generally shorter and far less painful than one that involves traditional metal tools. A digital impression system generally yields far better results than messy, uncomfortable dental putty. The list goes on, but the bottom line is that in order to bring you efficient and comfortable care, Dr. Jong Lee has made sure Dr. SmiLee has stayed up to date with the latest technology. On this page, you’ll find out more about the instruments we use.

SonicFill™
Our dentistry uses SonicFill™, a new and innovative technology that helps to shorten the long process of placing composite restoration down into a single step. While traditionally it takes up to 20 minutes for the procedure, SonicFill™ helps infuse posterior fillings in a matter of seconds! The most common procedure for composite fillings is posterior restorations which is why SonicFill™ has a uniquely designed handpiece used to deliver the composite to the prepared cavity quickly and effectively in a single bulk filled increment.
Dry Shield®
DryShield helps to keep your work environment dry, clean and visible. It performs all of the tasks of a high-suction evacuator, bite block, tongue shield and oral pathway protector in one easy-to-use device. Reducing risk of infectious diseases such as Covid-19 , aerosols, and splatter in the exam rooms.
Dental Vibe®
Dental shots are now PAIN-LESS with DentalVibe! DentalVibe is a tool that provides gentle vibration to the site of the dental injection. The vibration overloads the nerve that sends pain signals to the brain so that you don’t register the pain or discomfort from the injection.
Intraoral Camera
Intraoral cameras are very thin devices that can be used to take images of your mouth from a variety of angles – have several important benefits. First, they show your teeth and gums in crystal clear detail so that we can pick out potential problem areas more easily. Furthermore, they provide us with a means to show you exactly what we see in your mouth so that you understand what is going on. We use Mouthwatch intraoral cameras because they are extremely easy to use and make the process as efficient as possible.
Digital X-Rays
With the advent of digital technology, taking X-rays is faster and safer than ever. You’ll be exposed to far less radiation during the process, and we do not need to use chemicals to develop the final images. Not only will the results be available within seconds, but they will be extremely detailed, giving us a clear view of the various structures inside your mouth. We can enlarge these images as needed to ensure that no issue is overlooked no matter how small.
Infection Control Center
Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. We sterilize all reusable equipment, including dental handpieces. We use an autoclave, a device that kills bacteria and viruses by steam, heat and pressure. For the safety of our patients and our team, we will continue to practice increased safety precautions, monitor COVID-19 developments, and follow recommendations from The American Dental Association (ADA) and the Center For Disease Control (CDC), as well as state and local guidelines.
